About IBDC Ramnagar
Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre (IBDC), Ramnagar, Kurukshetra was established as a part of a bilateral agreement between India and Israel by the Department of horticulture, Haryana under MIDH, Scheme (2017-18). The project, funded at Rs.10.50 crores (spanning 25 acres) was developed to foster the growth of beekeeping in Haryana and neighboring states. This centre is now proving to be a milestone in he development of beekeeping. Various facilities including manufacturing of high-quality bee hives with super (Kail wood), comb foundation wax sheets, processing and bottling of honey, honey testing, and honey storage and training are offered to farmers under on roof. As a result the number of beekeepers is steadily increasing day by day. The beekeepers are benefiting from honey processing and bottling, leading to a direct sale of honey and a subsequent rise in their income. Beekeeping not only increases the production of horticulture and agriculture crops but boosts self-employment and the income of beekeepers too.
Honey Expo 2024
Honey Expo 2024 is organized by IBDC with a view to promote beekeeping. Beekeeping is an important activity that helps in increasing agricultural productivity, and has a major role in employment generation, rural development and nutritional security. It is crucial in maintaining biodiversity and providing environmental sustainability. Presently, beekeeping industry experts. Around 5000 progressive farmers, FPOs & beekeepers from all across Haryana are expected to participate in the aforesaid two-day expo.
